Questions about home health aide

Is a home health aide the same as a caregiver?

No. A certified home health aide works under a registered nurse's supervision as part of a skilled plan of care. Aide visits are provided alongside nursing or therapy and are covered by Medicare in that context. We do not provide standalone hourly non-medical caregiving.

How often does the aide come?

Typically two to three visits per week, each about an hour, according to the plan of care. The supervising RN visits regularly to check on the aide's work.

Are aides trained and screened?

Every aide is state-certified, background-checked, competency-tested and supervised by an RN.

Can we request the same aide?

We do our best to keep the same aide on a case for consistency and comfort.

Ready to start care, or have a patient to refer?

Call the office and a nurse will answer your questions. After hours, the same number reaches the on-call nurse. Physicians and discharge planners can fax orders to (310) 507-9989 or use the referral form.
